According to the talking mouse, Shiva is one hell of a stoner

A UK couple from Littledean, Gloucestershire was cleared of dealing cannabis just yesterday, after more than a year of trial. The couple was found growing a vast amount of cannabis in their home near the Welsh border in August 2012. There were 15 established plants, and 41 juvenile ones in their home – “just about every room had cannabis growing in them”, said prosecutor Paul Grumbar. These plants were capable of yielding up to 2,9lb of the weed. The police also found Ł13,000 in cash and evidence of money laundering about Ł277,000 that they received in six years.

Katarzyna Dryden-Chouen and her husband Clive claimed that the ganja would have been burned as a sacrifice to the Hindu god, Shiva at the end of the world which was supposed to come on 21 December, 2012, according to the Mayan calendar. While they admitted the personal use of the cannabis during meditation (which they did for 9 hours every day), they maintained that the “Homa” (burning pit) was their only purpose to grow such a huge amount of cannabis, and they never intended to sell it. Also, they denied knowing that cannabis possession was illegal.

The racing driver husband, Clive, a former bankrupt, claimed that the money was from his business based on converting cars to run on liquid petroleum gas – even though, he did not have a bank account, and admitted not paying tax after this business because he was always paid in cash.

In the trial, the prosecutor shown Katarzyna’s diary, which documented details of her cannabis growing and selling. However, the wife declared that it was a “fiction” as she wrote it after meditation, without eating for a long time.

Katarzyna also claimed to be in possession of a pet mouse that could talk and told her about Shiva’s wishes.

As Times puts it, „The luck of the Hindu gods seemed to be on their side.” Anyway, they came out free from court instead of serving hefty jail terms, as usual.

Of course, you can just watch the extract that is everywhere... but it is worth watching the whole, I think.

You funny little bastards, Americans! Instead of putting this man in an asylum, you let him walk around free (of course, under safe supervision) just so you can have your daily entertainment. Poor guy, he's so dumb, he even accepted the invitation to this talk show.
